On Saturday, August 28^th, 2010 , Meridian ’s Bodies In Motion and the Persian American Cancer Institute joined forces to celebrate the Grand Opening of the new Bodies In Motion health and fitness club in Brentwood and to raise funds for the wonderful work, that PACI continues to accomplish daily, for the benefit of everyone. This event was a huge success, many visitors enrolled in the club on this day and a substantial donation was given to PACI, to further their miraculous efforts! Bodies In Motion looks forward to a long partnership with PACI, in the pursuit of good health for all.

The above was possible due to Fatia Candari's self motivation to give to her community. Beyond the monetary contribution PACI is extremely grateful to people like Fatia who take ownership of PACI and do what they can to help us spread our name and awareness. This is what we are here for, for everyone to take charge for their own destiny and not be afraid to talk about cancer. Thank you Fatia!

On Sunday May 2^nd, Club 670 hosted a Poker Tournament at the Bicycle Club and invited PACI to run a Bone Marrow Drive.  The day started with much excitement setting up for the drive; many people showed up to register and we collected 100 applications. Club 670 had promised to donate 15% of their proceeds to PACI; in addition, two leather jackets were auctioned off.  The day culminated with donation of a check to Persian American Cancer institute in the amount of $11,355.00.

Mr. John Paley the General Manager of Radio 670 AM also generously donated a $1000 check.

Two wonderful Iranians ladies, Shani and Shirin were inspired by the idea of their children, Rameen and Idean, to join Susan Komen’s walk for cancer.
